Blue six, sorry, but i think you may be jumping the gun on correcting this guy's process. Buffing and polishing is NOT the same thing. Buffing usually involves a abrasive product to remove swirls, oxidation, sctratches ect. And polish restores the shine lost in the buffing process. Also, im not sure you have had much experience with other products if you think Natty's blue is the best.

muh before and after pics:

Your car looks good, I'm sure your happy with the process. I actually did the same process to my car today. Dawn, clay, PB SSR2, PB SSR1, then natty's blue x 3 coats. I like the Poorboy's products, they seem to work decent, but I haven't tried much else, care to suggest something? BTW, I started at 9 and just finished at 5.

The PB ssr 2.5,2,1 are exellent products. For the best results IMO i use Pinnacle Sourveran wax. http://www.pinnaclewax.com/souveran.html

Well, Buffing and polishing are done in conjunction (in most cases it should, as buffing clouds the clearcoat) so it's necessary to polish after buffing. I generally lump them together in one step and just move seamlessly into the other.
What do you choose as your top layer? Ever try Blackfire?

And for Raymond, I will agree I was harsh in my previous post. I was up for many hours and I had been painting in my garage earlier in the night so I was still messed up from that. I do not have a picture of the Mercedes before, as the picture was for a while ago, but I assure you there was alot more work put into it than you think. And my work on my car isn't my best as those pictues are over 2 years old. I haven't had time to do **** because of school and work. That and I'm trying to conserve my money, so i'm having to use what I already have and use as little as possible. It's depressing to see my car with scratches now.

I have not tried blackfire products. For my top layer i use Pinnacle Sourveran Paste on dark colored cars and Meguiers #21 synthetic sealant for cars with metallic flake.

Stop posting pics of German paint.

Polishing, buffing. So the terminology isn't perfect. Big ****ing deal.

Nice work man.

I'm afraid I have no clear coat to work with anymore. Like I said before it's 13 years old and has been buffed with a high speed buffer and abrasive rubbing compound numerous times.

Good work, that car looks nice.

Mine needs a day of beauty. I haven't waxed it since November 3rd, 2006.

Looks really good man. A tri-pod might help the pictures some. And is your camera set on a lower megapixel setting. Ive done that before and the pics came out like that.

well to the german wax guru.... my parents have owned several mercedez and you could bake those cars in the oven and the paint would still be emaculate, my pops had an sl-500 that was drive-wayed for 3 years (in florida sun) and that **** looked like your pic without it ever being waxed, or properly washed...i know cause i half assed washed it every time spray those things with some soap and water and drive it at about 110mph and carwash done!

BTW nice job on the shine up job looks good.
