What should i get at the most cost efficient way? I heard 207/215 is good. Also can it be used with stock pushrods, springs, rockers? So all i need is the cam? I want something that will work with the stock motor. And were should i buy these at?
Thanks.

I was just remembering how GT owners think its silly for v6 owners to swap motors, "why dont you just buy a GT?" ....Well, why dont you just buy a cobra
wow, this has turned in the blind leading the blind lol. Basically if you want to do cam the right way, and actually make some power, you are going to need the cam(duh), upgraded valve springs, new push rods, and possibly new retainers(its been a few years and I dont quite remember). At the time I did mine, it was ~$560 for the parts, excluding gaskets and fluids. Your best bet is to get in contact with either matt @ delk or tom @ supersix and they will recomend a cam based upon your individual plans and goals that you have for your car.

This. buying an off the shelf cam is the worst idea because it's not purpose-built for YOUR motor. Believe me, I have an off the shelf cam and am regretting that I didn't spend the extra coin to get a custom ground cam in the first place.
As far as where to get a cam from, I highly discourage buying from delk because of all the issues that have been arising lately with many of their parts. Stick with SSM, RPM-Mustangs, or my personal favorite, MoranaV6Racing.
I know the guy who's car is in the video. I think his cam is setup around his nitrous setup. If you want me to next time I talk to him I can see, if he will give me the cam specs for you?

You do realize that with any cam swap you will have to get a tune right? You can't just throw in a camshaft with these OBDII cars, hell you can't even retard or advance your current cam's timing without the car running like crap. Found that out first hand.

I asked him what the lobe seperation was a couple years ago and he didn't know. I forget the duration but it wasn't very agressive.
I figured ill need a tune which will cost around 300-400
I don't want anything too aggressive as its my DD. I want to know what I should get, and what I need. And if I can get a cam that uses the stock pushrods, springs, rockers ect.. I hope I can, but don't know.
But I really need to order it soon if I get it

Well, i took it up to the shop today. I'm going to leave it with him Monday to look it over to be sure its the head gasket. Then, if it is. He said that with 120k miles and the cost in labor (around 1k) that i'd be better off getting a new, or used motor put in.
And if he did fix it, he said there would be no guarantee it would fix the engine knock.

To be fair, Delk's cams are made by CompCams, so Delk doesn't have to build/assemble anything. Plus, you can deal directly with Matt, he'll help you spec it, and then he'll order it from CompCams. I wouldn't buy an engine from Delk, and on principle I would be hesitant to buy from them at all at this point, but an outsourced cam through Matt is different from an engine built by some random guy at Delk.
In addition, my first cam was from RPM. It was NOT manufactured by CompCams, and it had a mis-drilled oil passage that destroyed my cam gear and CPS gear, which disintigrated into a whole lot of metal shavings.
Take all that for what it's worth.

It's sad when the only reliable person in the company had all of his knowledge before being employed to the company and essentially have to order from an individual or you risk having a poorly put together car. I'll stick with tom morana, 20+ years experience, he built my motor and it hasn't skipped a beat since the first start up
I heard there were issues with miks parts in the past, but everything is solid now... Besides that mik has phenominal customer service rather than telling the customer he's wrong and there's nothing wrong with the motor

I don't disagree. I was just noting the difference between having Delk build you an engine and having Matt spec and order a cam from a reputable company. Like I said, I probably wouldn't do it again out of principle.

Mik may have a new cam manufacturer... and even if he doesn't, I'm sure they're a little more careful about the oil passage now. However, his customer service was some of the worst I've ever experienced, too, so I'm unconvinced. Of course, other people have had good customer service with him, so YMMV.
Honestly, the only V6 companies that I would spend *my* money with would be SSM and maybe Morana.

Will a 4.2 built by morana that can rev to 7k with no problem and has been doing so for about a year change your mind??
I've heard he's kinda slow on deliveries and such, but that's not the end of the world if it's a good product.
