as for the stick/auto thing ,wont a stick suck in town? constantly going and stopping... just think it would suck... plus an auto i could always add j-mon or something like that? seriously though, whats wrong with an auto?

There is a slight difference between a stock Ford auto and a built auto capable of almost 10 flat.

Seriously. Most of the autos in them are like 2 speed powerglides; in track only cars. I think its a waste to put one in a DD or something thats driven quite a bit. Takes the fun out of driving and I usually get distracted really easily when im driving an auto.

forgive my forgetfulness, i thought the person was just saying automatic mustangs are bad. and OF COURSE if you want it to perform well, you gotta build it up. stock ford internals / blocks are only capable of so much. same with the rear end. which is why people build those up to handle the power they want to put down.

so, in closing... automatic mustangs do not suck. especially if they are built to handle the power / performance people want them to be capable of achieving.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...ion_162492.htm

i'm sure i hear it shift 4 times in some runs... are you sure it's a two speed? and i dunno about you, but when i'm done with my auto, it will still be a daily. and people like you who curse them all day, can do it while watching my tail lights. and if you say autos are for people who cannot drive, well guess you're the one who cannot drive then cause you "oh so better" manual couldn't get past a lowly auto.

people who've driven my mach compliment me on the choice of an auto... all the power, without having to play with shifting.

but i know there are die hard manual fans... who won't drive anything but... you guys blow, but we all have our preferences.

No, that ones a 4r70w. Most of the people here who are running those times dont usually keep their 4-spds. And theres a reason your car is probably faster than mine, im pretty sure its not because of your auto.
I hold my own against stockish machs around here so I aint skeerd.

mind telling me the difference between my 4r75w and the 4r70w?

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forum...ad.php?t=23240

and stop going on a tangent saying so and so changes their auto to a two speed. the one i posted shifts more than two times, which i think would indicate it's not a two speed and is running 10.0x in the 1/4.

and the one i posted doesn't have a gutted interior... so it isn't a full on drag car. it's like you're saying as soon as someone goes auto they automatically make their cars full on drag cars. whelp, the one i posted seems to contradict your logic.

mine came stock with an auto and isn't a full on drag car... and will still be daily drivable when i'm done.

a LOT of the online mustang communities love to put down people with automatic mustangs. but it seems like everywhere i go in person, only thing i get are compliments and people saying my auto is best for the track.

like i said, you have your preference, and i have mine. i have a very valid point as to why i like my preference as i've seen what automatics can do built up, on a boosted 32v v8, on spray, with proper supporting mods. if traction goes the auto's way, it won't look pretty for whatever is next to the auto.

you do know shift points can be changed, right?

but if the crank and shift points are all you can come up with as to why my automatic sucks...

A. for a stock auto, it sure leaves a lotta people behind. taken out countless new edge gt's, r/t challengers, s197's, etc... and those were with people having automatics and standard transmissions. now if you say it sucks if i add mods to my car. of course i'll build up my transmission to handle the power. it's the same as people getting forged internals to handle the power they want to make.

B.

C. ask the people in the videos above if their autos were / are boring to drive.
