I have one in my trunk that I don't use. It was okay. Very easy to cross thread.

I changed because I found a carbon fiber one, and it looked akward on the shift handle.

I've never heard of it... I have a Bullitt shift knob, it rocks.
(It's upside down in the pic because I lost the set screw, LOL.)

Buy it from them because they will give you a credit it you cross thread it.

It's really easy to cross thread. It's just plastic.

cross threading something is screwing it on crooked and ruining the threads.

With all due respect, I don't think you own our product.

Our knobs are sold at www.MonsterKnobs.com

The knob you're describing sounds like the one sold by a competitor, at www.FatKnobs.com

There are several reasons I think you have a FatKnobs knob, not a MonsterKnobs knob:

1. MonsterKnobs shift knobs are not all plastic. The knob itself is made of 100% crosslinked resin, which cures to form a single large molecule. The threads, however, are made of 360 machine brass, which is manufactured into the knob.

2. FatKnobs shift knobs are all plastic, including the threads. The threads are simply molded into the knob.

3. FatKnobs offers a cross-thread credit as you describe. They give you $10 toward the purchase of a new knob if you cross thread their knob on installation. I suspect they offer this credit because cross-threading is a known issue on their knobs.

4. MonsterKnobs has a 30-day "Love It Or Your Money Back" guarantee. However, I would not be inclined to cover a cross-threaded knob. To cross thread our knob with the machine brass threads, you would either have to possess both the strength and IQ of the average gorilla, OR you would have to be torquing on the knob with a strap wrench or something. If you sent back one of my knobs cross-threaded, I would clearly see that as product abuse.

5. I checked our sales records, and do not show us ever selling a knob to anyone with the last name "Matthews," or to anyone in the town of Mt. Juliet, TN.

Hope this clears up any misunderstanding regarding our product.

Best regards,

MonsterKnobs.com

wow, I don't think I've ever seen a company register on this site to respond to one thread before. I checked out both sites and considering that they're the same price I'd have to say that the monster knob is superior though.

I'm a ergonomic shaped shift knob fan myself though
